Testimonials
General
How is WartPEEL different from other treatments?

Unlike creams and ointments that can spread to surrounding skin and cause irritation, WartPEEL is formulated with Remedium Adhesive Gel. This proprietary base is designed to remain on the wart and penetrate the thick outer layer of skin, delivering active ingredients directly to the living wart tissue.

What is Remedium Adhesive Gel?

Remedium is a patented gel base composed of 75% adhesive agents. It allows for localized, targeted treatment by securing the medication to the wart and enhancing absorption. Remedium is key to WartPEEL’s effectiveness and patent protection.

Where is WartPEEL made and how do I order it?

WartPEEL is exclusively compounded and distributed by NuCara Pharmacy. It is not available through local compounding pharmacies. NuCara ships to 48 U.S. states (excluding Alaska and Arkansas) and also offers distribution in Canada.

How much does it cost?

The cost is $98, including shipping.

Can I prescribe it in Canada?

Yes, WartPEEL is available for prescription in Canada. [Click here for ordering details.]

Prescribing and Cost
How do I prescribe WartPEEL?

How many tubes are needed?

Most patients only need one 5ml tube. For larger or more severe cases, consider adding a refill to the prescription.

Can I order it through my local compounding pharmacy?

No. WartPEEL is a patented formulation and is only available through NuCara Pharmacy.

How long does it take to receive?

Orders are typically delivered within 3–5 business days after payment. Patients should contact the pharmacy promptly to avoid delays.

Do insurance plans cover WartPEEL?

Most insurance plans do not cover compounded medications. However, patients can use FSA or HSA funds, or self-submit a claim to their insurer for possible reimbursement.

Can I get a sample of WartPEEL?

Samples are not available. However, first-time prescribers may be eligible for a discounted prescription.

Usage and Instructions
How is WartPEEL applied?

WartPEEL should be applied at night, covered with tape if recommended, and washed off in the morning.

Where can I find patient instructions?

QR cards are available upon request and include links to detailed instructions and pharmacy contact information. Printable instructions with QR codes are also available at WartPEEL.com by clicking “Prescribe Now.”

How long does it take to dry?

WartPEEL typically dries in about 15 minutes when applied in a thin layer. Drying time can be reduced by using a fan or a hair dryer set to cool and low.

How long is treatment?

Treatment duration varies depending on the condition:

  • Common, plantar, periungual, and palmar warts typically resolve within 1–3 weeks.
  • SKs, DPNs, flat warts, and male genital warts usually resolve within 3–10 days.
  • Molluscum contagiosum in children over age 5 often resolves in approximately 3 days.
What’s the shelf life?

WartPEEL should not be used past the labeled beyond-use date. If the product thickens or separates, it should be discarded.

Follow-up and Monitoring
When should patients follow up?

Most routine cases do not require follow-up if patients receive clear instructions. For severe or widespread cases, a follow-up visit is recommended in 2–4 weeks. If you're new to prescribing WartPEEL, consider scheduling a check-in within 2–3 weeks to evaluate progress and gain familiarity with treatment outcomes.

What are the main reasons for treatment failure?

The most common reasons for failure include skipping applications, not allowing the medication to fully dry (which can lead to irritation from spreading), and improper tape usage.

Which patients are at higher risk of failure?

Adults with long-standing, severe plantar or palmar warts may require close monitoring and in-office curettage to achieve optimal results.

Additional Application Info
Is home debridement recommended?

Yes, if done properly. Patients should use disposable nail files, cut into small pieces, to avoid reuse and reduce the risk of spreading infection. Debridement can begin once the wart turns white, typically around day 2 or 3. This improves penetration of the medication and gives patients visible feedback on progress. As the wart begins to separate from the skin, the included blue WartPEEL applicator pick can be used to gently lift and remove loosened tissue. Once the dead wart is flush with the skin surface, patients should stop using abrasive tools and continue only with the applicator pick to avoid irritation or spreading. For sensitive areas or crusted lesions such as SKs or molluscum, a warm washcloth is the only recommended method of debridement.

What kind of tape should be used?

Blenderm tape (provided with the prescription) is preferred, as it reduces transepidermal water loss and improves medication retention. Duct tape may be used if desired. Band-Aids should be avoided except during the day. Tape is not necessary for flat warts, genital warts, SKs, or molluscum, and may cause irritation in sensitive areas.

Safety and Suitability
Is WartPEEL safe for the face?

Yes. It can be used on the face but may cause stinging, especially in thin-skinned areas. Over-the-counter numbing agents, such as lidocaine or benzocaine, may help increase comfort.

Can WartPEEL cause scarring?

There are no reported cases of scarring. WartPEEL is not believed to penetrate deep enough to damage the dermis. Mild post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation may occur but is generally less pronounced than with cryotherapy or cantharidin.

What are common side effects?

Common side effects include redness, irritation, and mild to moderate burning, particularly in sensitive areas. Rare side effects may include allergic contact dermatitis or itching.

What if WartPEEL comes off overnight?

Most of the medication is absorbed in the first hour. If whitening or crusting is observed on the treated area, the application was likely effective.

Can it be used during pregnancy or nursing?

Use is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to the presence of 5-FU.

What’s the minimum age for use?

WartPEEL has been used safely in children as young as 4 years old under appropriate medical supervision.

Is it safe for male genital warts?

Yes. WartPEEL is safe and effective for external male genital warts. It is not recommended for use on anal warts or in intertriginous areas.

Can it be used for female genital warts?

WartPEEL may be used on external female genital warts as long as they are not located on mucous membranes or in intertriginous areas. It should not be used for anal warts.
